Answer

It sounds like you are feeling pretty lonely, frustrated, and afraid. Please know that your feelings are valid and you deserve the space to talk about them. Your post mentions that you don’t feel comfortable talking to your parents about what you are experiencing. Can you think of any other safe adults in your life that you can reach out to for support (such as a teacher, counsellor, or relative)? It is difficult for people to help you if they do not know what is going on in your life. You also mentioned that you have received services from the hospital in the past—are you still connected with a counsellor or other mental health professional? If you are not connected with them anymore or you are worried about what might happen if you tell them how you are feeling, you can receive free counselling by calling us at 1-800-668-6868. Phone counselling at Kids Help Phone is completely anonymous and confidential, that means we don’t know who or where you are so we can’t send you to the hospital unless you choose to share the information with us. You have already taken a big step recognizing that you need help and reaching out to us. Having someone to talk to about your feelings without judgement can be a really great tool for processing difficult situations. Plus, counselling can help you come up with different strategies for coping with emotional pain and avoiding self-harm. You are dealing with a lot of hard things on your own. Know that we are here for you if you want to reach out again. Take care of yourself.
