The Lang Family Foundation is investing in radical change for youth mental health care in Canada. Their $3 million gift ignited the launch of the Innovation Centre for E-Mental Health Solutions at Kids Help Phone — an incubator focused on leveraging technology and data to improve the design, delivery, experience and evaluation of our services.

This gift is dedicated to building a continuum of e-mental health services — co-designed with young people — that will help ensure youth who reach out to Kids Help Phone can access the support they uniquely need at the very moment they need it.

The gift will also support the aggregation of data across all of our services to help enable real-time insights, predictive analytics, data-driven service design and the development of new partnerships. With these building blocks in place, this investment will help empower Kids Help Phone to engage deeply with the technology sector, research partners and knowledge translation partners to co-create the next generation of e-mental health options.

Ultimately, The Lang Family Foundation’s generosity is helping to accelerate our bold evolution, supporting Kids Help Phone in responding more efficiently to the increased demand for our services. This support will help us gain the capacity to make 30 million connections with young people across Canada by 2024 — unlocking hope for young people to thrive in their world.

We extend our deepest gratitude to The Lang Family Foundation for their generosity, and for sharing our vision of a stronger, more resilient Canada built on the power of innovation.

“There is no doubt that the challenges and concerns facing young people today are more complex than ever before — and that the need for 24/7 access to mental health support has never been more critical. Through our investment in the Innovation Centre for E-Mental Health Solutions at Kids Help Phone, we are proud to help create a future in which every young person in this country always has a safe space to turn — a future in part enabled by the transformative possibilities of data and technology.”
