BMO’s purpose to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life is embedded in the objective to drive meaningful impact beyond banking. As a long-time supporter and Founding Partner of Kids Help Phone, BMO continues to activate its purpose with customers, employees and communities in mind.

Over the past three decades, BMO has helped break down barriers to mental health support for youth from coast to coast to coast. This includes generous donations and sponsorships and the enthusiastic contributions of employees from across the company.

BMO’s tireless commitment to the young people of Canada is particularly evident through its evolving support of the annual Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO. The Walk continues to engage thousands of people each year and has grown to become Canada’s largest community engagement event in support of youth mental health.

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused us to transition the Walk to a virtual format, BMO supported the event’s immediate pivot to the Never Dance Alone-a-thon powered by BMO — a Canada-wide dance party that invited participants to celebrate the strength and resilience of young people while raising money for Kids Help Phone.

The whole way, BMO was there — sharing innovative ideas, engaging employees company-wide, recording fun, creative videos and raising urgently needed funds during a time of unprecedented challenge and need.

In addition to the Walk, BMO was also a founding donor of Kids Help Phone’s texting service in 2017 and has served as Presenting Sponsor of the annual Ruth Goldbloom Ladies Golf Classic in support of Kids Help Phone since the inaugural event in 2009.

To the entire BMO community, we extend our deepest gratitude for the decades of partnership, friendship and shared impact. Thank you!

“As a Founding Partner of Kids Help Phone alongside Bell, Nestlé and Lactalis, BMO has been there since the first phone calls came in over 30 years ago. BMO’s purpose is to boldly grow the good in business and life and we’re very proud to help Canada’s only 24/7, free, confidential e-mental health service make a difference in the lives of so many young people every day.”
